Who May Apply for a Library Card
-- Active duty military personnel and their family members
-- Civilian employees at Edwards AFB
-- Retired military personnel and their family members
-- Students taking classes on base through the Education Office with proof of enrolment

Loan Periods
Library materials circulate for 2 weeks with up to 2 renewal periods
Video 7 days, no renewals
DVD 7 days no renewal
Current periodicals, 3 days
Reference materials, 3 days
Gaming materials, see main library

Renewals and Holds
Renewable materials may be renewed up to 2 times and may be renewed over the phone if not over due. Materials may not be renewed if they are overdue or on hold for another patron. Holds may be placed by phone or at the circulation desk.

Overdue Notices
Notices of overdue items are mailed to the office address of active duty and civilian personnel and to the home address of other patrons. If materials are not returned by the second notice, supervisors will be notified.

Limits
DVD loans are limited to three per patron, all other items are unlimited. See staff for game limits.
Computer Use
Dependants under 18 may only use the computers with the consent of the sponsor. Consent forms are available at the circulation desk at the Children' s Library and a consent log is kept at the circulation desk at the Main Library.

Children's Library

Story Time
Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 am
Story time is designed for preschoolers and toddlers. Special holiday stories are read at scheduled times.

Reading Programs
Eager Reader Program
Children ages 2 - 11 years are rewarded for reading. After the child reads 10 books they receive a gift certificate. Children who do not read participate by being read to by and adult. This program operates on a schedule; inquire at the Children's Library for details.

Food For Thought
Participating children read five books and earn gift certificates. This program operates on a schedule; inquire at the Children's Library for details.

Summer Reading Program
The Summer Reading Program encourages reading through an incentive program and the use of entertaining and educational presentations. An end of program party honors the participants. This program typically starts in June. This program operates on a schedule; inquire at the Children's Library for details.

Teen Database Awareness
This program is for youth age 12 and older. The program is designed to promote self-sufficiency in research. The participants learn how to maneuver through search engines and databases to hunt for knowledge. This program operates on a schedule; inquire at the Children's Library for details.
