Your tour of duty at Edwards can be very exciting and enjoyable. Outdoor Recreation (ODR) is here to provide you with many of the items you will need to take advantage of the local recreational areas if you enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, climbing, gardening, or other activities. We have the programs and equipment to support your needs.
Our programs and equipment are available to all active duty and retired military members and their dependants. Reservists, National Guardsmen, DoD and NAF employees, and base assigned contractors may also use Outdoor Recreation services
We provide year-round Outdoor Adventure programs designed to encourage people to add outdoor activities to their lifestyle. Offering scuba lessons, ski trips, hiking, fishing, camping, and much more.
The Great Outdoors, is a monthly newsletter with information on trips and different facility details, such as new hours, rates and programs. Sign up by emailing Shawna.fangon@edwards.af.mil

Outdoor Recreation
Ongoing programs and outdoor adventures are coordinated through the main Outdoor Recreation office. We offer many other servcies and carry a wide variety of recreational rental equipment and manage the RV storage and resale lot.

Parks and FamCamp
FamCamp offers on base camping and RV hook-up. There are several parks at Edwards-- including a skate park and ODR has all the information for you.

Pools
Edwards has three pools, one indoor year round pool and two seasonal pools. Check here for current pool information provided to you by ODR

Riding Center
The Edwards riding Center provided low cost boarding for horses owned by active duty military and DoD affiliated personnel, retirees and their dependants.

Rod and Gun
Edwards AFB hosts the oldest continuing operational Rod & Gun activity in the Air Force. Started in 1946 and with life members such as Chuck Yeager and Jimmy Doolittle, history and future go hand in hand.

Scorpion's Nest Paintball
Our large paintball field is complex and diverse, offering large and small obstacles and hiding areas. The field is located just down the street from the Rod & Gun facility, and if interested, you are more than welcome to stop by and view the field on Adams Way, just south of Rod and Gun.
